All glow in the dark products need two things: light so they can ‘charge’ and absence of light so you can see their GLOW.  If you have a project that can offer these two things, then you have found what you need to make your project amazing, with the help of GLOW Stones USA!

Installation on a Gravel Driveway, Path, or Garden Planter:

The famous driveway is created using our 1” plastic Classic Stones, spread loosely over the top of an existing gravel driveway.  If you'll be installing over an existing gravel, we recommend the plastic products.

  • Because the plastic GLOW Stones are lighter than regular gravel stones, they tend to stay at the top. They need to be at the top so they can absorb light and produce the GLOW.

  • Most of the glass product is smaller and heavier than the plastic; therefore it will eventually work its way down under the gravel, whereas the lighter, larger plastic Stones and Cobbles will stay on top.

  • Some maintenance is needed to ensure the placement, as with any other loose aggregate finish.

If you prefer the glass GLOW products, consider using a thin layer of small gravel combined with a larger GLOW glass that is a denser layer.  This will help ensure that the glass maintains exposure to the sun.  Alternatively, you can install only the GLOW glass so there is no concern for it being covered.

Asphalt Installation:

Asphalt applications have been done by some of our professional contractors with success, but we have not experimented with this process. For this reason and the expanding/contracting nature of asphalt, we cannot recommend it.  Proceed at your own risk!
