Remember: All glow in the dark products need two things: light so they can ‘charge’ and absence of light so you can see their GLOW.  If you have a project that can offer these two things, then you have found what you need to make your project amazing, with the help of GLOW Stones USA!  All our products are amazing and beautiful, but they're not magical!  If you're not sure, we recommend ordering a small quantity to test them out in your installation area.

All of our products will work in concrete.

  • Tumbled Glass & Hi-Tumbled glass ... The easiest product because you simply "seed" (toss/sprinkle) them over the top of your troweled concrete, re-trowel lightly to tamp them in, and you're done because they have no sharp edges.  Our GLOW Glass is safe for concrete retardants and muriatic acid uses and exposure.

  • Chips, glass… These Chips are small enough that some pieces are more like shavings.  Seed this over the concrete easily because they’re such a light product.  A sealant is a good idea because they won’t actually be set into the concrete, but are more on top of it.  Choose high quality, non-yellowing sealants so it will not affect the light-absorbancy of your GLOW Stones.  Safe for a muriatic acid clean/scrub after the concrete dries.

  • Plastic Stones in the Classic, Bead, Cobble, and River shapes. Safe for use in concrete, but not recommended for use with or around muriatic acids.

    • This may mar the surface and affect the ability to absorb light and then GLOW. Plastic Chips have a shorter lifespan, which should be considered when setting in concrete.

    • We have contractors who have successfully used retardants with the plastic GLOW Stones products, but we have not tried it ourselves. Use with caution and at your own risk!

  • The GLOW goes all the way through all our products, so you can grind all surfaces flat and level if you desire.

  • In order to successfully grind your concrete to a smooth polished surface with a GLOW glass installation, be sure to install concrete at 3000 psi.

  • Below is a video that demonstrates a recommended process for polishing concrete with an embedded glass aggregate.

glowHow to Install in Concrete glow stones

GLOW Stones are a beautiful addition in any concrete project!

Asphalt applications have been done by some of our professional contractors with success, but we have not experimented with this process. For this reason and the expanding/contracting nature of asphalt, we cannot officially recommend it.  Proceed at your own risk!
